We have produced concept papers on corporate social responsibility initiatives for the World Bank and a concept paper for a major mining company operating in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

The separate and, in some instance, conflicting demands of state and corporate interests created a need for a delicate balance regarding how to change corporate practice by improving relations with local communities and leaders in the operating region when such changes could invite government displeasure.
